Agricultural systems are fairly complex. They are shaped by lots of different processes, they are expected to deliver a wide range of outcomes, and they are constrained by a host of external factors. Producing meaningful research in this complicated space is not easy. It requires a holistic perspective and possibly a few new tools in our scientific arsenal.
