HortiBonn auf dem Apfeltag 2024

HortiBonn took part at the well-attended joint apple day of the Dienstleistungszentrum Ländlicher Raum (DLR), the NRW Chamber of Agriculture and the University of Bonn on 16 August 2024 in Klein-Altendorf.

During the tour through the experimental orchards, Dr. Thorsten Kraska and Lisa Klophaus (DLR) presented the results of Philipp Wolf’s work and Hagen Pfennig’s bachelor thesis on pneumatic defoliation to improve fruit colour. Lars Zimmermann showed potential applications of 2D LiDAR laser scanners in fruit growing. Nils Heßling presented the results of his bachelor thesis on the influence of training systems on the detection of apples using RGB cameras. Dr. Anton Milyaev provided information about the KoGa concept and the Hortiprimed and IrriStaud 2.0 projects that are currently running as part of KoGa.

This year, a special topic block on frost protection was organised in the afternoon. Christine Schmitz presented maps for frost risk in the Rhineland and in Germany. Dr. Michael Blanke completed the HortiBonn team.

HortiBonn war auf dem gut besuchten gemeinsamen Apfeltag des Dienstleistungszentrums Ländlicher Raum (DLR), der Landwirtschaftskammer NRW und der Universität Bonn am 16. August 2024 in Klein-Altendorf vertreten.

Auf dem Rundgang durch die Versuchsanlagen stellten Dr. Thorsten Kraska und Lisa Klophaus (DLR) die Ergebnisse der Masterarbeit von Philipp Wolf und der Bachelorarbeit von Hagen Pfennig zur pneumatischen Entlaubung zur Verbesserung der Fruchtfarbe vor. Lars Zimmermann zeigte verschiedene Einsatzmöglichkeiten von 2D-LiDAR-Laserscannern im Obstbau. Nils Heßling präsentierte die Ergebnisse seiner Bachelorarbeit zum Thema “Einfluss der Erziehungsform auf die Detektion von Äpfeln mit RGB-Kameras”. Dr. Anton Milyaev informierte über das KoGa Konzept sowie die im Rahmen des KoGa laufenden Projekte Hortiprimed und IrriStaud 2.0.

Dieses Jahr wurde am Nachmittag ein Spezial-Themenblock zum Thema Frostschutz veranstaltet. In diesem stellte Christine Schmitz Karten für das Frostrisiko im Rheinland und ganz Deutschland vor. Dr. Michael Blanke komplettierte das HortiBonn Team.
